We have been having the most crazy weather around this winter. In all of my life I had never seen weather this nuts and all over the place. Back in February for instance when it is supposed to be freezing with snow all the time, Well, we did have that one week. And would you believe that with the several inches of snow and freezing temperatures, the snow melted in less than a week after that because we had a drastic weather and climate change to where it went from 20 degrees all the way up to 85 degrees! I actually had to turn on my central air conditioning system for a day or two that time of the year. That was something I had never done in my entire life. The day before I just had the central heating cranking, and a week before that the snow and ice were going on. It is really hard to comprehend that this really happened. Air conditioning in February is only something that can happen in the south. So this was an experience I will never forget. Then would you believe that a few days later I ended up having to crank the central heating again as per normal that time of the year? This global warming thing has really messed things up on this planet. And with all this drastic heating and air conditioning flip around, it is no wonder everyone is not getting very sick from such a drastic temperature change! My central heating and air conditioning system unit sure got itself a major work out this year, that is for one hundred percent sure.

The HEPA brand air filters I knew would last me a few months for each filter and was almost the same as what you can accomplish with properly made washable air filters.

I had bought some washable air filters recently, and unfortunately they were defective. They worked for round 1. But then when it came time to take them out of the central heating and air conditioning system and wash them, they would flake apart and get destroyed! So it was no different than having non-washable air filters. It was a good thing I kept my receipt because this was a month later. I tried a few of the washable air filters just to be sure, and they all flaked when washing them. So i returned the filters to the store where I bought them explaining what had happened. They were very sorry about it and they offered to replace them with the same brand washable air filters. I have to admit I was a but paranoid, so I opted for just my money back instead and then I went and bought a bunch of regular air filters in the top quality HEPA brand. The HEPA brand air filters I knew would last me a few months for each filter and was almost the same as what you can accomplish with properly made washable air filters. You just had to pay a little more for HEPA brand air filters. Which I did not mind doing. Because at least with HEPA air filters I know I am dealing with a well known brand name and knew that they would not be defective like those washable air filters I bought had been. I will just keep going to HEPA air filters for all of my HVAC filter needs.

I had recently went to apply for a new job somewhere, and in the course of the interview they asked me a very unusual question that I never had heard in a job interview.

They wanted to know my temperature preferences when it came to heating and air conditioning! That one threw me for a loop.

I wasn’t sure if this was a trick question and could make or break me getting hired or what. The job I was applying for had nothing to do with the heating and air conditioning industry, so this was really an odd question all together. I kind of delayed on answering this on the spot and danced around it. I did not want to give my honest answer cause I do not know what they would be looking for. So the way I put it is that my body was flexible with temperatures as long as they were livable. They accepted that answer. In the long run, it turned out that it was not a trick question. They were wanting to know this information because they were going to be investing in a brand new commercial heating and air conditioning system, and wanted to ensure that it met everyone’s temperature needs. So my answer was really useless. But the point was, to even get asked this meant I had the job! However, the fact that they care about the heating and air conditioning preferences of all employees shows that they are a stand up company and I will be looking forward to starting my job and enjoying their brand new and very up to date commercial heating and air conditioning system unit.

I don’t know about you, but every single time I get one of those too good to be true advertisements in the mail for something pricey, I always just disregard it and do not believe what it says.

It is always some sort of scam or sales tactic to get you to spend tons of money you had no intention on spending.

The part about restrictions is the catch and how they get around their outright sales lies. I wasn’t even going to bother looking into this, so I threw away the card. Then, about a week later I start getting tons of telemarketing calls from the same heating and air conditioning company trying to sell me the same offer. Right there you know it is a scam of some sort when they have call center people calling you and harassing you to buy into their offer. Nothing in this world is free. So when you get a card or something in the mail that suggests stuff like this, never fall for it. Cause at the end of the day all you will be doing is buying a brand new central heating and air conditioning system at full price while they make you believe you are getting some kind of exclusive special deal that does not really exist!

I tried to call the local heat and a/c corporation for some emergency HVAC services and they sadly did not have anyone available that day. So I was stuck sitting without air conditioning. However, i had a solution that was going to make it so I did not have to go to a hotel. A month or so earlier I had found a deal on portable air conditioning systems and I bought one. I figured you never know when you are going to have an HVAC emergency, so I picked it up for that very reason. And what do you know? Here a month later I had an HVAC emergency and the portable air conditioning system saved me a few hundred bucks on not having to go to a hotel overnight. Always plan ahead is my theory. It was so good, that at times I did not even remember that my central heating and air conditioning system was broke.

I am an independent HVAC workman for a living, and I love my job. I have everything usually planned out before the week starts. At the end of the previous week, I have all my heat and a/c repair appointments set up. Yes, I am that busy! It can sometimes get overwhelming, but when the money is rolling in all the time giving me and my family a nice comfortable living to live on, you don’t think about it much or even want to complain. I am one of those people who have to get up super early in the morning to go to work.

After the invention of air conditioning in general, people started relying on it to survive.

This goes way back in time to its initial creation. And I am no different. Especially now days when central air conditioning had become the common way people cool any home, apartment or building. I for one can not live without air conditioning on those hot summer days. If I do not have air conditioning around me, I find myself lagging and dragging around all day and sometimes even falling asleep. Because my body really can not stand bad heat.
