Not everything has to be over complicated.
That’s what I always try to tell people. Turns out, a lot of people prefer to make life harder than it really needs to be. Call it a love for drama or chaos. They simply will not take simple steps to improve their own circumstances. My friends are like this sometimes, especially with their money. For instance, they’ve been complaining about high energy bills for as long as I’ve known them. They even whine about their heating, cooling, and air quality control performance on a regular basis. But they never have stopped to consider that they should improve their heating and cooling system in simple ways, they could also cut down on their energy bills in a big way. For instance, I know that they have a basic dial thermostat for the HVAC system. They have to remember to adjust their heating and cooling equipment every morning, noon, and night or else they are wasting money. I know for a fact that this happens often, they leave the AC unit running at full blast all day. I’ve been trying to tell my friend that she should look into a smart thermostat to replace their old temperature control. That way, the smart thermostat would manage the HVAC settings for them and optimize their energy usage. They could save so much money and abuse on their air quality control devices if they just paid a small upfront cost. I just can’t get them to consider the HVAC upgrade though. They insist they don’t have the money for it because of their energy bill.
