I can’t believe that this actually happened to us, but we hired an HVAC technician who created problems with our HVAC system so that he could charge us more for repairs! I had never even heard of something like this happening before, and so when it happened to us, I was utterly shocked.
- This HVAC company had been the one that we used in our house for years, and so we completely trusted them and their technicians.
We had used them many times over the years to repair our furnace and our air conditioning system for us whenever it went on the blink. Not only that, but we had also used them the previous year to put in a whole home air purification system for us. We had never had any trouble with them at all, and so it was especially shocking for us to find out what this HVAC technician was doing to us. We never would have even known about it either, if we had not just installed a nanny cam at the house and my husband happened to see something that looked suspicious when he looked at it one night. We actually saw the HVAC HVAC technician take off one of the newer parts of our heating system and replace it with an old worn out one that he pulled out of his bag! We watched it half a dozen times because we could not even believe our eyes! We immediately called theHVAC company to report what the technician was doing and they were as shocked as we were. They apologized profusely and fired the guy as soon as they saw the tape. I’m glad that they handled it the right way, but I am still having trouble trusting anyone with my HVAC system now.
