It turned out the battery was totally drained again, and I realized it had to be the alternator that was the issue
This one time when I was traveling with my wife, we came across some trouble with the car, but we had the temperature control settings just right with the heater, and both of us were feeling relaxed and cozy. Then the heating system quit blowing enough heat in the car and then both of us observed the lights were starting to dim down a good deal, I wasn’t sure what was going on, by the time I saw an auto parts store, that’s when the car broke down and I was able to coast into the parking lot. I was happy I wasn’t just there stuck on the side of the road. I had a guy come out to check out the battery and he said it looked like my battery was bad. He ran tests on it and sure enough, it was bad. We got a new battery and had it installed. The guy asked if both of us also wanted him to check the alternator as they were having a sale on those, although I said both of us should be fine. The car was able to turn back on and the heating system roared to life and we had the ideal temperature control settings again. We made it all the way back home luckily, but then the car died on us again. It turned out the battery was totally drained again, and I realized it had to be the alternator that was the issue. I really should have listened to that guy and gone for a new alternator, although I thought it would take forever to have it installed. Now both of us have to tow our car to the nearest auto mechanic to have that fixed, and I’m guessing they won’t have the alternators on sale this time.
