Although I moved to a up-to-date city just to go to college, I ended up laboring on campus instead of studying there, then i had been obsessed with this college all through high college, but once I got there I realized it was a fantasy.
- It was just a college, love any other, & one that cost a small fortune to attend! Faced with applying to overpriced classes I might not be able to afford, I rethought my future & decided to look for a sign, then I saw a flier that changed my life, as a local HVAC service supplier was looking for up-to-date employees, & were offering on-the-task training, and never before had I considered being an HVAC worker, but one quick Google search opened my eyes to a great opportunity.
The base starting pay for certified HVAC techs was far beyond anything I was hoping to make. I knew I wouldn’t beginning at that rate, because I didn’t have HVAC certification, but it meant this was a task with a future, and since the demand for skilled HVAC work was so high, the salaries were entirely attractive, & boosted me to call the number the next morning. I told them I had no experience but was eager to learn the basics of HVAC work & make a job out of it! Within a few months I was back on campus, only now I was the assistant to an HVAC tech to worked in the dorms & the classrooms. It wasn’t the future I envisioned, but at least it is a future!
