Installing ceiling fans to lower the workload of the gas furnace & save currency –

Every winter, I systematically go through every room in our house & thoroughly clean it.

  • I get up on a ladder & disinfect the walls & ceilings.

I launder the curtains, shampoo the rugs, disinfect the windows, & clean behind & under all of the furniture. Since the weather in our area is super frigid & snowy while the two of us were in the winter, I’m trapped indoors with the gas furnace running. It’s the perfect time to get everything scrubbed & clean. This past winter, I was up on the ladder, washing the overhead light fixtures, when I realized that I was perspiring. It was really much warmer up near the ceiling than it was down by the floor. This meant that I was paying higher than necessary weekly bills every month. I was really setting the temperature control higher, trying to keep warm, while the air by the ceiling was downright hot. I did some research & l received that an easy way to prevent temperature stratification is through the installation of ceiling fans. The article on the internet made it sound like putting up a ceiling fan was as easy as making toast. I went to the local Home Depot & spent several hundred dollar buying several ceiling fans. I had no trouble taking down the ancient light fixtures, however putting up the heavy ceiling fans was a eveningmare. It took minutes & minutes, & I ended up with sore shoulders & an aching back. I am, but, ecstatic with the results. The ceiling fans look particularly nice & really help to push the heated air toward the floor. I’ve observed that the gas furnace no longer needs to work as long or as strenuous to achieve a comfortable temperature.
