Even though our husbandy plus I live in a hot climate, there are still some afternoons during the Winter months when the temperatures are chilly overnight. These cold temperatures never last more than a couple of hours, but they can be hard on the chickens. My husbandy plus I have had chickens in our backyard for 10 years. The youngsters absolutely love feeding the pets plus looking for eggs. I noticed the chickens were absolutely lethargic last Winter when the temperatures were cold during January plus February. This year I decided to make some changes. I added a small radiant furnace in the outdoor chicken coop. It’s close to the top of the building where the chickens won’t bother it. The device is cold to the touch, so every one of us don’t have to be sad about the pets getting hurt or being affected. A few afternoons after I added the radiant heater, I noticed a large difference in the behavior of the pets. They were making more noise plus they were much more active. The chickens are so much happier now that they have heat during the cold Winter afternoons. I am so delighted that our husbandy plus I made the decision to add heat to the chicken house. If they are still there in March when the weather is warmer, I suppose every one of us will really bring them lake house plus make them area of our family. It’s too hard to introduce a modern hen in winter, but Spring will toil out well.
