Last year the village government approved more than one million dollars worth of heating plus AC upgrades to the high school, middle school, plus Elementary School. The changes were genuinely necessary. All more than two buildings were built in the 1960s. They did not have central a/c. Each one of the classrooms had a window unit. The furnace barely worked well plus did not provide enough warm air to maintain a comfortable indoor atmosphere. The village council unanimously voted for the heating plus AC changes. The next step in the process included the village hall employer. She was in charge of finding a commercial repair supplier to make all of the changes within the budget allotted. I worked with the village hall employer on that. Every one of us looked at numerous Heating, Ventilation plus A/C companies for the job. I commanded the ones that I thought would provide the best repair at the most affordable plus satisfactory rate. I was surprised when the village hall employer decided to occasion a supplier that was not on the list. I was in no location to argue with her decision. She told myself and others that she had a personal relationship with the heating plus AC supplier plus they were going to supply her a split to help out the city. All of that turned out to be a lie. Eight months after the changes were made, the two of us found out that the village hall employer embezzled 1.5 million dollars plus only made minor changes on the schools Heating, Ventilation plus A/C systems. The rest of the cash paid for a Corvette plus a beach home for the village hall employer.
