I started my own painting company when I was 28 years old.
I was fed up with working for other people so I decided to go on my own.
It was definitely a learning experience being in charge of other people working for you. I ran into the wildest characters in the painting field. Some of them were ex convicts so you can imagine the things I had to put up with. The worst problem I had was the workers doing side jobs and keeping the money that should have been for us. You live and learn. Since then, I have been trained as a HEPA and HVAC specialist so I can help other people keep their house air quality good while saving money. I like to help people learn easy ways to save money around the house. Most of the time people can clean their own air ducts and vents. I’ve taught people how to remove the air filter and clean it. I also made many people change to a HEPA air filter so they have less health issues. Clean air in the house is paramount for a healthy body and a clear mind, there is nothing worse than sneezing all day while you are trying to do some yoga. I like the washable filters they make for both the air conditioner and the furnace. They are very cost efficient and even come in some pretty cool colors nowadays, what will they think of next! I think the best invention so far is the digital thermostat, it’s much easier on the eyes.
