I haven’t always been all that great about taking care of my stuff.
This was something that used to really upset my old man.
He would be on me whenever I left my bike outside or destroyed yet another pair of blue jeans. To me, it was just stuff. And that was an easy way to look at it as I wasn’t paying for it. Now that I spend a lot of time inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office to provide for our household, I’m a bit more keen on taking care of stuff. That includes the HVAC equipment in my home. When I was a kid, my dad always got HVAC maintenance from the HVAC professionals at the HVAC company. So there was a precedent for me to do the same thing. Dad wasn’t one to spend money on anything that didn’t have or hold it’s value. This was a man who bought his shoes at a discount bin and then wore them slam out. So if he was spending money on HVAC maintenance, then it dang sure mattered to him. When I became a homeowner, I sort of questioned whether or not the HVAC maintenance was really worth it. I figured out pretty quickly that it was. HVAC equipment that gets consistent seasonal HVAC maintenance last seven years longer that those that don’t get HVAC service. That pretty much was all I needed to see on that. Plus, the HVAC service ensures that the HVAC equipment is working at peak efficiency as well which saves a ton of money over the years. To me, HVAC maintenance in the fall and the spring are simply essential.
