Time to replace the furnace

There’s a big possibility your furnace will start to wear down over time and need to be replaced if your home is at least 30 years old.

Older furnaces contain parts that need to be replaced from time to time.

If you constantly have to adjust your thermostat because the temperature in your home won’t remain constant, your furnace may need to be replaced. An efficient HVAC system should heat your home to the desired temperature, and be able to maintain that temperature. Another sign your home furnace may need to be replaced is if you experience cold spots in your house. If you walk from one area of your home to another, and realize that there is a sudden decrease in temperature, then your furnace is not circulating the air in your home efficiently, and may need to be replaced. A properly working heating and cooling system should be able to maintain the desired ambient temperature of your home throughout the entire house. Also, you should not experience changes in temperature from room to room, unless you have a smart thermostat with zone control. If you experience uneven rapidly increasing temperatures in your home, you may have leaks in your air duct. Over time, the air duct will expand and contract as the metal heats and cools. Eventually, it will need to be replaced. Regular inspection and service of your HVAC system is the best way to make sure that it is actually working as efficiently as possible.
