I had just started working as a human resource manager in this new company, but part of my job was to ensure that each staff member was comfortable and to create a comfortable working environment for everyone, and once I was done with the induction, it was time to get down to work.
I had gained a couple of complaints about the commercial a/c system.
I also felt that the indoor comfort was not of high quality. I made an appointment to have the ductless multi-split unit checked. I could feel that the air within the office was humid and periodically it was a bit hard to breathe especially in the afternoon when the sun was hottest, and according to the records, the a/c upgrade was done about three years ago. The previous HR had some air conditioner workman do a/c repair on the unit about a year ago. The a/c professional came and assessed the Heating and A/C unit. Apparently, the issue was due to a rusted heat exchanger. The dial thermostat had also malfunctioned. The a/c maintenance repair helped maintenance these troubles, the experts replaced the regulator with a programmable one! We got a good deal on the heat exchanger from the a/c company at the local business complex downtown. This job was done in the night when the staff had left for home. It was easier since all of us did not interfere with the weekly work of the staff. The experts who obviously knew more about a/c suggested that I ensure that every fall, all of us schedule an a/c maintenance whether the unit is a new a/c or an old one. This would help limit the problems and also lengthen the lifespan of the unit.
