I had just started working as a human resource manager in this new company, and part of my job was to ensure that each staff member was comfortable and to create a comfortable working environment for everyone! Once I was done with the induction, it was time to get down to work, I had gained a couple of complaints about the commercial a/c.
I also felt that the indoor comfort was not of high quality.
I scheduled an appointment to have the ductless multi-split unit checked. I could feel that the air within the office was humid and occasionally it was a bit hard to breathe especially in the afternoon when the sunlight was hottest, however according to the records, the air conditioner upgrade was done about three years ago, but the previous HR had some a/c workman do air conditioner service on the unit about a year ago. The air conditioner professional came and assessed the Heating and Air Conditioning unit. Apparently, the issue was due to a rusted heat exchanger. The dial thermostat had also malfunctioned. The air conditioner service helped repair these issues, the experts updated the regulator with a programmable one! We got a great deal on the heat exchanger from the air conditioner supplier at the local company complex downtown. This work was done in the night when the staff had left for home. It was easier since both of us did not interfere with the weekly work of the staff. The experts who evidently knew more about air conditioners suggested that I ensure that every fall, we schedule an air conditioner service whether the unit is a new air conditioner or an old one. This would help limit the issues and also lengthen the timespan of the unit.
