Out of sheer desperation, I went to the local box store plus purchased a window AC unit. It was the middle of the night when our AC went out, leaving myself and others in a hot plus humid home. The hot plus cold temperatures were rising past 88 every day plus the humidity was thick, making the air guess sweaty plus wet. My first reaction was to call the HVAC corporation, however when they told myself and others the cost of an emergency HVAC appointment, I told them to put myself and others on the correct schedule. I assumed that they’d be able to send an HVAC professional to our house the following day. I could survive a day or two without air conditioner! However, when the HVAC contractor told myself and others that they were booked for two weeks, I was stunned! I didn’t want to pay the emergency HVAC cost because it was fancy, plus there was no telling how much more it would cost to service our AC unit. I put our name on the schedule anyway, however decided to purchase a window AC device to hold myself and others over. There was no way I could live without AC for two weeks, especially in the summer. The window AC device was fancy, but I planned on returning it after our broken AC device was fixed! Luckily, the local box store had a fabulous return policy that would allow myself and others to cool our home until the HVAC contractor could get to me. I would pay a few hundred dollars upfront, then get that money back as soon as I returned the window AC unit.
