I am not one to gloat, actually I’m not, but sometimes it’s hard.
In our day to day life I’m a humble dude, but here online I will cut loose a little bit.
The same guy who called myself and others a loser in high university for dropping out to learn a trade came in applying for a job. This guy graduated top of his class, went to school, the whole several yards, but I couldn’t hire him because he didn’t have the right certification, and he had a ton of education, however he couldn’t work on Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems & that is all I needed from a worker. He got mad at myself and others about it, but our hands were tied, all of our field techs need to have regular Heating, Ventilation & A/C certification & licensure. His problem was that he still thought that trade work enjoy Heating, Ventilation & A/C was beneath academics enjoy him, but it’s hard to argue with that kind of self delusion. He had come into our heating & cooling corporation to ask for a job, & then scolded myself and others for not doing more with our life. Truly stunning, the balls on this guy! I lowered our voice, speaking real nicely, & explained to him that air conditioning & gas furnaces were always in demand. I had educated myself with a really particular skill set in Heating, Ventilation & A/C work to make a residing & support our lifestyle. Then I said “instead of reading something useful enjoy Heating, Ventilation & A/C, you studied Russian literature, & now you are realizing no one will ever pay you for that. Tough luck.”
